‘New Horizons’

Announcing Beth Teshome’s wholesale debut.

In November 2005, Beth Teshome celebrated its fifth year trading as Camden Lock’s premier boutique. Since its arrival, the label has consistently provided this historic location with an abundance of femininity and Oscar worthy elegance. However, 2006 sees this show-stopping brand playing by a new set of rules, as the label launches its first wholesale range.

The debut Autumn/Winter collection encapsulated the very essence of the brand’s design ethos which approaches each garment as a piece of art by mixing colour palettes and layering textures to create a completely original design. The label speaks to women who seek to express their individuality and creativity through original designs and appreciate the value of unique style, expert craftsmanship and an imaginative understanding of fabric and fit.

Rich velvet dresses in midnight blue, deep bordeaux, forest green and classic black are trimmed with rouched hems adding a flirtatious twist to this sensual style. Matching jackets with stripes of chiffon and silk hand stitched on to the wide lapels in turquoise and fuscia finish the look.

Crinkled silk shirts with ruffle detail softly wrap around the body pinching in the waist before the eye drops to a full skirt in raw silk that end with layers of complimentary fabrics from floral printed chiffon to organza with metallic highlights.

Silhouettes evolve from billowing skirts and dresses in falling chiffon over bright organza underlay to svelte slashed satin dresses in rich berry and gold that skim over the body with soft draped necklines and skinny straps. Feathered bodices in rich tonal colour-ways are also teamed with matching skirts all hand composed guaranteeing an individual finish to each piece.

In contrast to the very soft shapes comes a twist of masculinity through structured tweeds in brown, green and mustard. Hems are left with raw edges and features wide kimono-esq sleeves with a wrap round belt for a feminine touch that shape short jackets to full coats.

This collection also sees a reinvention of the classic LBD, which uses structured yet soft black silk to create dresses with sophisticated cut outs covered in sheer chiffon and ruffle detail along the hem line, the very epitome of elegant beauty.
